Paris In Winter In The Press!

The Barristers Club

For our next big fundraiser, we went to Allentown, PA-writer & director, Stephanie Gardner´s, hometown, to have a film screening, where Gardner screened 7 of her short films.  The highlight of the evening was the debut of a new short, ¨The Moaning In The Music,¨ which Gardner collaborated on with musician and composer Paul Merrill.  Gardner made a mostly silent film set to the narration of a poem she wrote and Merrill composed a score, which he played live to the screening.  In addition to  pre-recorded instrumentation, Merrill played trumpet, guitar, piano, and cymbals to accompany the film.

10% of proceeds raised through the Paris In Winter fundraisers go towards Breast Cancer Research and the Valley Youth House Supportive Housing Program (www.valleyyouthhouse.org) to help victims of domestic violence and displaced families re-establish themselves in their own independent living situation.   Love Yourself is a video which shows the tragic reality of abusive relationships, but provides hope that there are survivors who have gone on to live their lives free of abuse.
